Koyna Dam

A visit to the Koyna Dam is always breathtakingly awesome. It is where technology meets nature. At the entrance towards the Shivaji Sagar words written in blue-white colour, ‘This water is scared…This water nourishes all…This water brings prosperity to the nation!’ welcomes the visitor. Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary

Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary is a Natural World Heritage Site, Nested in the Western Ghats, It forms the northern portion of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, with Chandoli National Park forming the southern part. Spread across 423.55 km2, the sanctuary is dense and has a lot to offer to the tourist. Varieties of mammals including Tigers, Leopards, Indian Bison, Sambar Deer, Giant squirrels and more. 1st Tiger Reserve of Western Maharashtra and the 4th Tiger Reserve of the State.

Ozarde Waterfall

Nested in the thick jungle of Koyna,is the Ozarde waterfall. This waterfall is famous for its massive drop and the evergreen forests. One has to trek for about 45 minutes through dense forest to reach the waterfall,crossing may small streams where on can take a break to play in the water. Shivsagar Lake

ShivSagar Lake is a huge lake formed by the Backwaters of the Koyna Dam. Boating facility is available in this lake. The Koyna wildlife sanctuary surrounding the lake is rich in flaura and fauna. During the boat ride one can sometimes spot wild animals like tiger, leopard and other wild animals.The lake extends all the way to Taploa in Mahabaleshwar

Koyna's wildlife is exceptionally diverse, protected within the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary—a natural World Heritage Site in the Western Ghats. The sanctuary covers over 420 sq km and supports a rich variety of ecosystems, from montane rain forests to moist deciduous forests.​

Among the mammals found here are Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, Indian gaur (bison), sloth bears, sambar deer, barking deer, mouse deer, gray langurs, smooth-coated otters, and Indian giant squirrels. The sanctuary is notable for hosting more than six Bengal tigers and a substantial population of gaur (>200), along with other significant species
